Kōdos collective by artist-researchers Fernanda Oliveira and Claudio Filho. With an interest in exploring the sensitivity of algorithmic operations, the collective integrates aspects of data visualization with environmental issues. The axes of art, data, and environment guide its production. The Collective is part of the Laboratory of Art, Science and Deviant Technologies (ACTlab) led by artist, professor, and researcher Dr. Cesar Baio at State University of Campinas (UNICAMP/Brazil) and the Extremidades Research Group: audiovisual networks, cinema, performance, and contemporary art.
What brought us together was our interest in a visual poetic exploration of these relationships with deviant technologies - technologies that deviate from an anthropocentric vision and expand their knowledge towards a new operative way of acting aesthetically with the environment - within the art-data-environment guidelines. Kōdos collective has several artworks exhibited worldwide (Brazil, Greece, China), always seeking to explore the sensitive regimes in algorithmic operations, working with data visualization with environmental issues.
